DR16b.jpg (27287 bytes) This page and the one following has been kindly submitted by DeWitt Roberts.  DeWitt is one of the early Combat Tracker BJWS graduates and we are very grateful to him and his lovely wife, Rose, for sharing these memories with us.  The stamps on the left are captured North Viet Namese stamps. Note the Soviet Union "Hammer and Sickle" on the left stamp-and the "George Washington (?) of Viet Nam" on the right stamp.
DR5b.jpg (23285 bytes) From L to R:George Koon (KIA '67), Ron Grove, Willie Howard, Bobby J. ("Chief") Baldwin, (?) Wiggins, (?) Murphy, S/Sgt. (?) Smith.  George is to be remembered for his good nature and pleasant smile.  All of the men were BJWS trained and became part of the 66th IPCT when the official designation was made in March 1968. S/Sgt. Smith was also an instructor at BJWS.
DR6b.jpg (26046 bytes) This is a photo of William Allison Anderson who was KIA in 1969. He was a member of the 66th IPCT attached to the 25th Infantry Division.  William is to be remembered as a cheerful young man with an energetic and delightful personality.   DeWitt says that it was an honor to have William on his Team.
DR3b.jpg (16299 bytes) DeWitt sent us this photo of Sp.4 Glen Schlechter, Coverman for the 66th IPCT with the 25th Inf. Div. "at ease" with his Black Lab Tracker Dog, Butch.   Butch usually worked to the side of the trail on a drift scent. He was a hard worker and a little bit crazy. More than one Handler was bitten for invading his personal space!
DR2b.jpg (18031 bytes) This photo was published in the Overseas Weekly and saved, fortunately for us, by DeWitt.  The photo of "Them Dog Days" has members of the Team attached to the 25th Inf. Div. From L to R: Sp/4 Joseph Journigan -Coverman, Sp/4 Wiggins -Coverman, Pfc. Bob Brede -Handler, Bodie, Sp/4 (?) Murphy -Coverman, Sp/4 Jerry Quinn - Handler. All were BJWS & members of the first CTTs.

Woodbury's Team at the time, and Sp/4 Patrick McGhee-Coverman.  All were BJWS graduates. The was of the aftermath that followed an attack on the A-Team Base Camp were the camp had been overrun with Patrick McGhee inside.   Chuck Calhoun, S/Sgt. Joe Woodbury, Sp/4 R. G. Arrington-Coverman, Sp/4 Joe Mocki-Coverman, and Sgt. DeWitt Roberts-Visual Tracker all participated in the retaking of the A-Team Camp from without.  The pretty pond in the background was a B-52 bomb crater."
