Tarka.2c.JPG (9325 bytes) Tarka the Wonder Dog is asking, "Hey, Boss, what do you say we ask for a resupply on that vanilla ice cream?"  Sent to us by Steve Williams, CO CTT #9 - 101st Abn.
Tent.1bJPG.jpg (18933 bytes) This is the elegant Headquarters of CTT #9 with the ever-mobile 101st Airborne.  Steve responded to the following ad in the Real Estate Section of Stars and Stripes which read: "Apartment Deluxe - 1 big room, A/C, occasional leaks in the roof, but has nice floor.  Superb view of the Perimeter - No down payment required! Act NOW!"
Ken.2c.JPG (14802 bytes) Since no home should be without a Dog, the following ad ran in Stars and Stripes along with the Apartment Ad: "Doghouse Deluxe-1 big room, A/C, water, low maintenance - Buy TODAY!"  (Old ammo crates, PCP, scrounged plywood, liberated ponchos and a little ingenuity!)  CTT #9 in 1967.

Our formerly missing CTT #9 with the 101st Airborne.  CTT #9 became the 557th IPCT. For those of us who now need glasses (not quite the "Eagle eyes" we used to be!) Standing L to R: Lt Steve Williams CO; Sp4 R. Boyer; PFC Ben Miller; Sp4 William E. Cannon; SSgt. Johnny Teeters, NCOIC; PFC C.L. Womack.  Front L to R: Sp4 David Hahn, PFC R. Smoot; Sp4 Joe Farmer; and Sp4 Rodney Asino.  Joe Farmer was Tarka's Handler and Rodney Asino had Mackey.  This is the same Tarka that made it through the entire War!  Thank you so much, Steve, for the great photo and for helping to put all of the pieces together for the first 14 CTTs (Provisional).  The accomplishments of Tracker Teams were begun with those first BJWS grads and continued that excellence throughout the War.  Thank you all for your service!
