"Hello -
My Name Is Greg Irwin. I am the son-in-law of Mark Fresch. I wanted to share
with you that Mark Passed away on August 9th 2011, he was 61 years old. He
fought a year long courageous battle with Pancreatic cancer. He was a
wonderful man loved by many and he will be deeply missed. It was only
recently, that Mark had shared his experience in Vietnam and mentioned your
website. It is great website with a lot of information and links that is
helping us with the VA, you do an outstanding job!. I do have pictures of
Mark during his service, but I don't know any of the other folks names in
the pictures.. How can I let those men that might have known Mark, know that
he has passed on.... and also maybe share stories or help post the pictures?
In June of this year , at the begging request from his Grandson (Marcus),
Mark went to Marcus's first grade and talked about his experiences in
Vietnam and with the dogs. It was amazing, the stories he told where amazing
and kept the attentiveness of the 1st graders...Fortunately we videotaped it
and will cherish it forever... Apologies for the lengthy note for help, but
any advice and or recommendations would be helpful Thank You Greg Irwin,
Michigan" To the left is Mark with Lucky B383. Mark served with the 62nd IPCT attached to the 1st Cav in 1969-70. Thanks to all you veteran Trackers for helping with the IDs and for communicating with Greg. |
