The photos on this page come from Al Haynes. They were
taken in June of 1967 at BJWS in Malaysia. Al handled Blackie (T004). They served
together in Viet Nam with CTT#13 attached to the 1st Infantry Division. Blackie was in
combat from 1967-1971. He is listed with the 61st, 66th and 62nd IPCTs. We believe he may
have been adopted by General Creighton Abrams and renamed "Devil". Pictured to the left are Al and Blackie on a track. Don Hendricks, CO CTT#13, thinks the handler may be Norman Shaw, not Al. He thinks the guy to the right is Scottie, Coverman of CTT#13. |

Trainees in front of the barracks. Al Haynes is standing, the others are
unidentified. From Marty Olhiser, " I believe that is me to Al's left, Larry Trout
to my above left and Wilde behind Al? Hope it helps." |

We think that's Al crouching with Blackie, Rodney Asino, Joe Farmer with (?) and Sergeant George Yeandle.
Out for a little walk....
Need some help here with IDs. Note the British Sergeant Instructor with
shotgun. Could that be George Yeandle? And could the Yank on the left with the SLR be Ken
Lundberg? Mitch Scott of CTT#11 says, "Ken Lundberg, Sergeant George Yeandle, Joe Farmer (handler of Tarka), and Rodney Asino (handler of Mackey). Both Joe and Rodney were green dog trainers." |
