Ken Lundberg and Dave Layne with the "Prize" courtesy of CinZano
and Gino's. They're just your average tourists abroad on Official Assignment for The
United States Government or are they in the service of Her Majesty The Queen? The photos on this page come from Dave and our thanks. |
|
Part of the training at BJWS included mounted drill. Actually this is the front of a post card sent to Dave from the UK by a British WAC. They met while Dave was attending BJWS and she was keeping in touch after returning home. Dave says it was "one of those Singapore things".
All the guys at Gino's. From L to R: Libby, Dejewski, Bongiorno, Gell,
Near, Layne, and Smith. Just who won that prize or was it a pool effort? |
|
Larry Gell with Joe 6B54. Behind them is the kennel area at BJWS where the dogs received their daily ration of chopped mutton, greens and biscuits. All was prepared with fresh ingredients and painstaking care.
After BJWS and returning to RVN Dave was assigned to CTT #2 attached to the 25th Inf. Div. This photo was taken during operation "Diamond Head II". From L to R: Schlectner, Leon, Witt and Dave.
Dave taking a photo opportunity during a mission. He's all dressed up with somewhere to go! Love that CAR.
This is Bodie (4A75). His handler was Bob Brede and both were KIA in 1967.
This is Major (4A82). Dave Layne was his handler and says "Major was one of our Trackers. They were trained by us in Malaysia prior to being used in RVN".
This is CHARLIE with another one of those problems he was prone to have. CTTs did their utmost to create those problems. Better him than us!
