This photo was sent to us by Mike Burke - OIC of the 65th IPCT in 1969. These photos were taken at the same time as those from the OCTOFOIL Article sent to us by Ron Eitel. This is Sgt. Roger Marnell, PFC Sammy Woods and Prince in Dong Tam - 1969. Please see Page 12A for more 65th photos.
This photo of Robert Patterson with the 65th IPCT was taken from a slide - he really isn't red! However, when CO Mike Burke was kidding him about having no hair on his chest, Tracker Patterson simply replied, "Hair doesn't grow on steel, Sir!" A typical and proper Tracker reply! This was photographed in the "Day Room of the 65th IPCT" May 1969
An unidentified Tracker! NAME THAT TRACKER! Taken at the 65th IPCT in May 1969 by Mike Burke - whom we thank for his patience in sending, and sending, and sending these!
Sgt. Jesse Richard and another Tracker Team Leader. Sgt. Richard requested that M-14 from his O.I.C. after he missed a shot a "Mr. Charlie". As you can see from this photo - Santa brought him his M-14! This was taken in August/September 1969
PFC. Sammy Woods and Prince crossing a canal the "easy way"! This was photographed at the same time as the photos for the OCTOFOIL article (see 12A). They didn't recommend this way of crossing! Dong Tam -65th IPCT |
