Cliff Clement sent all of these photos. Cliff was a Track Layer and
as such, a special part of the Tracker Family! This is the first graduating Handler
class when Cliff was at BJWS. This would have been late June-early July 1968.
Anybody recognize these Handlers? 03 July 2009 update from Dave Folland: "From L to R # 1 unknown, #2 Jim Tomlinson 65th IPCT, #3 Ed Lawton (KIA), # 4 unknown, # 5 Cpl. John Higgs, #6 Bob Sepulveda 61st IPCT, # 7 Dave Folland 61st IPCT & Sam, #8 unknown. |

The photo shows two of the other Track Layers who worked with Cliff. Standing on the left is Richard Paulus and the Track Layer gone "native" on the right Cliff believes was Ronald Roberts. Cliff thinks that R. Roberts went to the 23rd as a Visual Tracker.
This is "Macha John" the barber at BJWS. He was a character and a half by all reports, and actually cut the Japanese soldiers' hair during their occupation of Singapore in WW II!
Track Layers on the way to well-deserved R & R in Singapore. They were smart enough to go by themselves and not with the wicked Kiwis and Tracker Trainees! Bet THEY all came home in one piece!
